Emerald Mountain Labs and its affiliate facility, Viridian Labs, are home to over 50,000 sq ft of cultivation space in Warren, Michigan. Our rapidly growing facilities demand skilled and talented people to help us expand and increase efficiencies throughout front and back-end operations. We’re seeking motivated individuals to become part of our team as skilled Cultivation Leads. You will work alongside a crew lead by the Chief of Cultivation and Manager of Cultivation.
A Cultivation Lead is expected to have knowledge of cannabis genetics and growth requirements. The candidate will assist Manager of Cultivation by carrying out day-to-day processes within grow rooms. Evaluating the performance of team members through the day-to-day tasks associated with plant care. A qualified candidate will assist in meeting daily goals and ensure health of the plants, while maintaining all compliance requirements. They are responsible for increasing operational efficiency and reducing waste through teamwork, communication and collaboration between team members. They must abide by Michigan state laws and regulations related to marijuana production and keep up to date on changes to these laws and regulations. Commercial Experience Preferred
- Must be 21+, with a valid State ID, and able to pass additional background screening.

Cultivation Lead Description:
- Work directly with Chief of Cultivation and Manager of Cultivation to relay tasks and expectations to cultivation team members.
- Responsible for assuring their assigned team completes tasks delegated by management.
- Communicate with team members and management to accomplish tasks assigned.
- Evaluate daily performance of employees assigned to their team.
- Responsible for directing employees to top priority plant related tasks.
- Ensure all plants are in the correct position, irrigated, and trellised.
- Provide daily progress reports and updates to Chief of Cultivation.
- Supervise and train employees who tend to plants.
- Organize and document the daily process of transplanting, cloning, defoliation and trimming of plants.
- Identify and resolve plant health issues like mold, mildew or other infestations.
- Monitor stock of cultivation supplies and equipment and work with Procurement to order supplies.
- Preserve a culture of professionalism.
Job Qualifications:
- Proven experience cultivating in a large-scale indoor cannabis facility.
- Knowledge of the entire cannabis growth cycle and inputs required.
- Understanding of water runoff.
- Leadership and people management skills.
- Understanding of pest and disease management techniques.
- Experience working in fast-paced environments.
- Basic understanding of CRA regulations and requirements.
- Willingness to continue learning about cannabis farming, and passion to stay up to date on current and future growing trends.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Always ensuring standard operating procedures are being followed.
- Arrive prepared, and before the cultivation team.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects (50 lb +)

- Must possess proficient English skills, both written and verbal.
- Must possess effective oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to deal with all levels of personnel in a professional and effective manner.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour
